INTRODUCTION
IGenPlus, gives teenagers from all over the globe an opportunity to win the title of ‘Young Economist of the Year.’ This competition aims to encourage the youth to interpret economic events and present their views to the world.

OBJECTIVE
Economics surrounds us in subtle and obvious ways. It frames our choices and helps us understand several economic and social issues. The subject knowledge can be applied in varied fields, from business to agriculture to healthcare to environment and development.
21st-century classrooms need to challenge young people in thinking about these themes critically. Moreover, students should learn how to turn their logical arguments into a piece of writing. This essay competition provides a way to do just that.

GENERAL GUIDELINES
- Participants aged between 12 and 19 years are eligible to apply
- Students can choose any topic from the list (Maximum 3 entries allowed per person)
- All essays must be typed in the English language and submitted as a Word DOC or PDF
- Every submission should be within the word limit of 500-1000 words
- Submissions must be original and free from plagiarism
- All entries must be sent before 15 January 2021
